🔄 Donation Policies

  1. All Donations Become Property of the Store

    • Once an item is donated, ownership is fully transferred to The Great North Thrift Store.

    • Donated items may be sold, repurposed, or used in programming.

  2. Donated Items Must Be Legal & Owned by You

    • Please only donate items that you personally own or have permission to donate. No stolen or borrowed items.

  3. Items Must Be Safe to Use

    • Do not donate items that are knowingly broken, damaged beyond use, recalled, or unsafe (e.g. leaking fuel, exposed wiring, or broken buckles).

  4. We Reserve the Right to Refuse Donations

    • We cannot accept items that are moldy, unsanitary, infested, or pose a health/safety risk to staff or customers.

  5. No Hazardous Materials

    • Please do not donate bear spray, fuel canisters, firearms, knives, or chemicals.

🛒 Store Policies

  1. All Sales Are Final

    • As a community-supporting thrift operation, all purchases are sold “as-is” and are non-refundable. We do our best to ensure items are functional and clean.

  2. Honest Pricing & Transparent Profit Use

    • 100% of our profits go directly to operational costs of Get Lost – Nature-Based Wellness & Recovery. Pricing reflects fair market value and condition.

  3. Tampering or Theft Will Be Reported

    • We take shoplifting, swapping tags, or tampering with gear seriously and will report incidents to authorities.

  4. Zero-Tolerance for Harassment

    • We maintain a safe, inclusive environment. Disrespectful or abusive behavior toward staff, volunteers, or guests will not be tolerated.

  5. No Resale from Donation Drops

    • Individuals may not take items from the donation area before they are processed.

♻️ Our Commitment

We aim to clean, repair, and reuse as much as possible. Items we cannot use are responsibly recycled or passed on to other charities when appropriate.
